Whew! What a summer!

I've been so busy this summer that I haven't had any time to post here. Hopefully that will change now that the days are getting cooler and the daylight is fading faster. This forces me to schedule sessions earlier in the day and it gives me more time to work at night. Lot of beautiful weddings this summer and lots of fun, fabulous seniors.

I've been needing to update my website for a long time and it's finally happening. Being the artistic control freak that I am, I decided to go with a self designed site. Thanks to my photography friend Andrea Wood, I was pointed to a great flexible web design site that enables me to continue to be artistically in control. Thanks again, Andrea.

The busy summer was also filled with lots of fun. I was able to team up with some great photographers and great friends at several weddings. Bonnie Berlin and I are terrific friends and a terrific team. Lots of laughs, lots of work, and lots of great images. Thanks, Bonnie, for always being there to teach, share, listen, and help out!

East Coast Photographic School in August was once again a real bargain . Fortnately I was able to attend this event on scholarship, but I would have been there if I'd had to pay. Tony Corbel, lived up to his reputation by teaching us all he knows about light. I am a better photographer because of the experience.

Many special weekends were also spent at Atlantic Beach with my family and friends. I never leave home without my camera, and as a result I have many images of the wild ponies of Shackleford Island. It's so different from my portrait work that it encourages me to think outside the box.

I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer, my favorite season. Having been a teacher for 27 years, I always looked forward to the lazy summer months of vacation. This summer has been anything but lazy. I suppose now I'll have to take my vacations in the winter.
