I like closeups and particularly love this one of Carsie.

She has gorgeous brown eyes that sparkle when she smiles. I think it's important to capture a lot of different elements of a person's personality. I like the smiling images but sometimes it's just as important to capture someone just thinking.

Red and Blue

Seniors continue to fill my schedule. Carsie and I found some great places for urban shots this week. We even took advantage of an old disgarded sofa and discovered a door that is my favorite shade of blue.

Senior Pictures

Senior Sessions

With school starting in just a few weeks, I'm starting to get booked up with seniors. That's a good thing since they are my favorite. I can be as creative as I want to be and they seem to welcome it. If you have friends who would like to schedule a session, I have a few days left the last week in July. Most like to get the pictures done before school starts. but it's not totally necessary. I can't shoot outside before 5 anyway. So after school will work fine for me. The hour just before sunset is called "the magic hour" for photographer's. The light is perfect to soften the features of the face and sometimes I can position you just right to catch that rim light around the hair.

More Seniors

Faith and Amber gave me an idea this week. Two is defintely better than one. These senior friends were able to combine their session and it worked better than I imagined. While one girl was changing into another outfit I was shooting the other. It maximized the time, plus they were able to help each other select clothes and have their pictures made together. What fun! Then we began our urban crawl. We found some nice old textured brick walls downtown and visited the railroad track for some buddy shots.

Senior Fun

I decided to join the ranks of bloggers and share some of the fun I've been having with the high school seniors I've had sessions with. I just love seniors--fresh faces with an endless number of expressions and attitudes. All just wanting to be photographed. This week I spent the better part of a day with three upcoming seniors. Bailee came on Wed. and let me try out my new colored gels on my backdrop. We were both surprised that we loved the yellow one. She definately has the skin tone for it.

After a few shots in the studio we headed out to find some interesting places in Williamston. The new softball complex has some great playground equipment that we took advantage of. It was an overcast day so we had great soft light. It was a fun afternoon and we got lots of great pictures.
